C70 British Racing Green COSC

There’s quite a story behind the C70 BRG COSC. Christopher Ward produced the prototype in 2016 with a view to launching it as a 500 piece Limited Edition. But the project was shelved in favour of the new C7 Rapide collection… However, confident the watch would be going ahead, CW’s case manufacturer had already started producing new cases for the now cancelled watch... It turns out they had made 88 cases by the time word the project wasn’t going ahead had reached them. Rather than see the 88 cases go to waste, CW decided to make 88 pieces after all. In November 2017, the C70 BRG COSC was launched, with a retail price of £695. By early 2018, it was sold out… apart from this one, which popped up in a July 2018 archive sale.

So the watch in this listing is a brand new C70 BRG COSC dating from July 2018 - likely the last new one you’ll ever see for sale. The rear case back says it’s number 38/500, but as I mentioned above, they only made 88 of them (plus the prototype), so this is actually one of 89, not one of 500. It’s supplied on a brown leather CW strap with sport buckle. It comes with CW movement warranty valid until July 2023.
