Why are some of your personalised plates priced at considerably less than similar numbers being offered by other dealers?
Some dealers are happy to wait years, even decades to find the one person who is willing to pay a spectacular amount of money for a registration. We’re less patient and less wealthy, so we’d rather take a smaller profit now, than hold out for a large profit later.
Are there any other fees involved, or is the price shown the price I pay?
All prices INCLUDE VAT and the DVLA assignment fee. The DVLA no longer charge £25 to change nominee details.
Note a small handful of our plates are not subject to VAT. The VAT status of these plates is highlighted in the relevant listings.
Who owns the number plates you're advertising?
We are not middle men: every plate on our site is 100% owned by us or in the case of a few, our friends and family. Because of this, it is not possible to buy our plates cheaper elsewhere, because you’d be dealing directly with the owner.
I've seen your plates listed on other sites, why is that?
Almost all other number plate companies act as brokers/agents offering plates they don't actually own - as well as being dealers for their own stock. Sometimes they list our plates with our knowledge, other times they're just listing whatever they can find. We don't mind who we sell a plate to: brokers we know, brokers we don't know or directly to you - just be assured the cheapest place and fastest way to buy our plates is directly from us!
How can I pay for a personal plate?

How do I put my new number plate onto my car?
Assigning a plate to your vehicle is a very simple process.
The DVLA has a new online system where most plates can be assigned IMMEDIATELY (7am-7pm).
You can see the website here: www.gov.uk/put-registration-number-vehicle
Note you must be in possession of the current V5 and the vehicle must have been taxed/SORN continually for the last five years. If that's not the case with your car, you'll need to post the assignment application to the DVLA.
Can you handle all the paperwork for me?
Yes, we'd be happy to handle the assignment for you, free of charge.
I already have a personal number plate on my car, what will happen to that?
If you have a number plate on your vehicle which you'd like to keep, you need to remove that plate before you assign a new one.
The DVLA website you need is: www.gov.uk/keep-registration-number
I'm not bothered about keeping the plate which is currently on my car, but I wondered what will happen to it?
Your old plate will go on hold, linked to your car. When you remove the personal plate, the old plate is returned to it.
The personal plate I want is a different year to my car?
You are fine to make your vehicle appear older than it actually is, IE if you have a 2008 car and you want to assign F8EAK, which would appear as a 1988 registration, that is totally fine and legal. However if you have a 2006, 56 reg car and you’d like to assign AW59OME, that is not possible, as it is has 59 (2009) year marker and would therefore make your car appear younger than it actually is.
How long will it take between making a payment and getting the personalised plates on my car?
The DVLA recently launched a new online system which allows you to retain or assign numbers immediately - during office hours.
To retain a number which is currently on your vehicle the web link is: www.gov.uk/keep-registration-number
To assign a number from a certificate onto your vehicle the website is: www.gov.uk/put-registration-number-vehicle
Occasionally, it's not possible to carry out instant assignments (usually if a vehicle is not taxed or the owner has only just changed), in this scenario, the paperwork would need posting the the DVLA and the assignment process can take 3-20 working days, although is usually complete within the first week or two.
When will I receive the new vehicle documents showing my new number plate?
New paperwork usually arrives within 2-20 working days.
Can I buy a personal plate from you, but not put it on a vehicle until I'm ready?
Yes you can. Certificates are valid for many years, so you can sit on a number plates as long as you want. Should you buy a plate from us and get close to the expiry date, just get in touch and we'll renew it for you for another ten years.
I’ve got a registration for sale, would you like to buy it?
Contact us letting us know what reg you're selling and how much you’re looking for.
I’ve got a registration for sale, would you like to sell it on my behalf?
Sorry, we don't sell any plates on a commission basis, so the answer is no.
Are the personal plates on this site displayed to exact DVLA/legal requirements?
Most do, yes, but some of the pictures display both a correct and an incorrect version of the plates - the incorrect versions should not be used on roads - these are just for illustrative purposes. The description for each plate clarifies the correct legal spacing.
