6 OE

Originally sold at a DVLA auction in 1994 for £2,500, 6 OE is a perfect example of what a great long-term investment three-digit number plates are.

At the July 2020 auction the DVLA released just three 3-digit number plates from a total of 2,250 issued (note the DVLA only has a limited stock of 3-digits left to issue). The prices they achieved were:

• 9 YK - £40,000

• 9 XT - £27,800

• 8 UV - £30,800

Bear in mind the prices quoted on the DVLA site are the ‘hammer’ prices. To calculate the full price, you need to add 7% buyer’s premium (recently down from 8%), then add VAT to both the hammer and BP, then add £80 assignment fee.
